Marleen Boonen and Warren Savage from IPextreme will participate together in a DAC IP Track panel on Monday, June 2, 2014, from 10:30 to 11:15AM. “The Making and Selling of IP Businesses: Private Companies in the Semiconductor IP Industry and Ecosystem” takes place in Moscone Center South Hall, Room 105. In this session, we will have two panels to hear perspectives from both sides. The private company panel will discuss with founders their strategies for building a company that can thrive in a competitive market. The public companies panel will discuss their approach toward acquisitions and some of the things that private companies should know that can increase their valuation.

2.1 PANEL: Private Companies in the Semiconductor IP Industry and Ecosystem

Panel Abstract:
In this discussion, panelists will offer DAC audiences an insider’s perspective on what it takes to succeed in the semiconductor IP market. Joining this panel will be founders of companies of various ages, from new ventures to 20-year-old institutions. 

Panelists will present their viewpoints on how they got started, best business practices, and strategies for competing with larger players in the market. They will also delve into the challenges faced by smaller players in the IP ecosystem and the practicalities of carving out their place in an ever-changing market.
